With the last of the warmer weather gracing us with it’s presence, it seems only wise to invest in garments that meet the current season.

Here, in New Zealand that task can often be underestimated. Summer are days have cooler evenings but blazing hot afternoons. This flowing and vibrant maxi-dress from Max takes the cake by suiting such a beautiful variety of temperatures that it is one my favourite pieces in my wardrobe to date.

Maxi-dresses take a variety of forms, but lightweight fabrics that are made to move in I naturally gravitate towards. This dress is a feminine piece that will take you through seasons with ample comfort. The lightweight chiffon moves in the breeze but you can easily layer up if it gets too chilly. On colder days I pair it with stockings and a cardigan and boots for a smart-casual day look. This dress does have a lining too, so you don't have to think too much about what you pop underneath. The V-neck design is very flattering for us well endowed ladies, and it makes room for a beautiful statement necklace on a night out.

This dress encompasses all my favourite colours, deep fuchsia, soft pink, sky blue and jewel green. Whether you are a winter or summer skin tone this dress is made for you. Style it according to your favourite shades, for me this bag which is also from Max is a lovely dainty contrast.

I love it when designers take a moment to add sleeves of one kind or another. Not only does my pale skin appreciate it, but it removes the need to add extra layers that can often be cumbersome and unnecessary in hot weather. I love beautiful simplicity, and what I love most about this dress is the way it speaks for itself with an elegant minimal design and bold vibrant floral print.

I matched my accessories to the colours within this piece, a navy velvet choker, pearl earrings and floral beaded clips from Lovisa. I’m loving a strong copper eye at the moment, and it brings out the pink shades well. Soft bouncy curls and a pink lip tie up this delicate look, but you could easily go for a smokey eye and a messy up-do for a special evening occassion.

Don't forget your feet, you can show off your legs in this dress. The more important the occasion, the higher your heels will be. I finished off the entire outfit with a pop of pale blue in mine, with these minimal pastel heels from Rubi Shoes. Whether it's going to be day-dreaming or dancing the night away this dress from Max is a must-have.
